Aisling Bea

Aisling B a was born 16 March 1984 in Kildare Ireland. She has appeared on QI along with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984), better known as Aisling Bea, is a popular Irish actor, writer and comedian. Bea began her stand-up comedy career in 2011after having appeared in bits in several Irish TV shows as well as British shows since the year 2009. Bea began performing frequently on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms from 2012. In 2012, she began appearing in panel shows following her win of an award at in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She's a member of 8 Out of 10 Cats since 2016, and she's a popular contestant of the show's sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents were Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is her sister-in-law. In 2012, she was the only woman to be awarded the So You Think You Are Funny award. Her surname honors the memory of her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh is the daughter of a Kildare born woman. She was born March 16th 1984. Bea's father Brian is an equine doctor who committed suicide at the age of three. Bea didn't learn how her father passed away until she was thirteen. The stage name she chose was Bea to pay tribute to her father. She also wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about her family's experience of suicide. Bea as well as her sister Sinead were raised by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) a secondary school teacher, jockey trainer, and professional jockey for a time. The family was awed by racing, horses as well as the race industry. Bea was a guide for The Irish National Stud in her early days. But she was aware it wasn't something she wanted to be as a profession and preferred to perform.
